I'm about to do a sync write-up post of John Carpenter's The Thing, inspired by William Thuther's latest post on Fire Rituals and of course, Synchronicity. I've seen the movie at least 15 times, but never really "observed" it. The movie involves a lot of ice (Lucifer's frozen domain at the bottom of Hell, also earth+water [liquid to solid, right brain submission to left brain submission]), a lot of FIRE, a lot of aliens using mind control/bodily possession, and a lot of deception. It's a really long movie, so hopefully I can get through one half of it soon, and this will be more fun for me than The Last Dragon was because this movie's not half bad whereas The Last Dragon is just god-awful and hard to watch.
Last night I dreamed about 11's, and massive black lightbulbs with small lights revolving around them to the tune of Looney Tunes characters singing metal songs. How fucking strange is that? Marvin the Martian was doing a song just as I was waking up.

Hello my friend,
Can't wait to see your write up of The Thing. Email me at info@conspiracygrimoire.com when it's up.
I see your from Michigan. I too, am from Michigan. I saw a movie at the Traverse City Film Festival last year that you might want to check out.
It's very Thing-esque. It's called The Last Winter, came out in 2006. If you like the thing. . .
Have you seen the original version of The Thing? Very cool as well.
Bliss,
Thuth
