PRINCETON, N.J., March 18 (UPI) -- A U.S. researcher found a powerful link between financial security concerns and satisfaction with one's life.
Talya Miron-Shatz, a postdoctoral research fellow in the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, said that in a study involving women, those who concentrated much of their thinking on financial matters were much less likely to be happy with their lives.
Contrary to expectations, many of those with such worries had plenty of money by conventional standards, suggesting that there is more at play in obtaining peace of mind than simply having cash, Miron-Shatz said.
"Unhappy? Go get a job, you loser!"
Doesn't that seem to be the (ironically) lazy-ass answer for everything? "Go get a job"? Get yourself embroiled even more in a financial system made to collapse in on itself. I am actually very unhappy lately and the last thing I'm thinking about is getting a "job". Oh, but maybe that's why I'm so unhappy? Because I'm unwilling to put myself to tedious slavery just so I can exist without fear of homelessness and exile.
Some days all I can see in front of me is tyranny... All that's there to experience is eternal slavery.
Update: Scenes from the Recession
Forced into cheapness and herd-like behavior. My heart goes out to those with families to support during these times... I think there's some sort of "3rd world country reality show"-like agenda to make the switch to "new world order" seem that much more inviting.
