ORTING, Wash. - Five children were found dead at a home outside the city of Orting after their father reportedly killed himself in a neighboring county, a television station reported Saturday.
Pierce County sheriff's deputies went to a home in a trailer park at the request of the King County Sheriff's Department after the father committed suicide, NBC affiliate KING reported on its Web site.
Pierce County sheriff's investigators told The News Tribune the children apparently were victims of homicidal violence.
Spokesman Ed Troyer said the 35-year-old father was discovered dead Saturday afternoon.
The children were between 7 and 16 years old, KING reported. The 7-year-old is a boy, and the rest are girls.
Orting is a city about 35 miles south of Seattle.
