WASHINGTON — As US kids go back to school facing a likely resurgence of (A)H1N1 flu, the US government Tuesday enlisted Sesame Street muppets Elmo and Gordon in a new health campaign.
The brains behind the famed educational television show for tots will partner with the agencies in four public service announcements warning children of the need to stifle sneezes, wash hands and to stay home if they get sick.
"Wash with Elmo, wash, wash, wash," the furry red muppet says in one ad, imploring kids to keep their hands clean to stop the spread of germs.
US officials have repeatedly warned of a likely resurgence of H1N1 flu as children return to school over the next few weeks after the long summer break.
"We are thrilled to partner with Elmo, Gordon, and Sesame Workshop again to emphasize the steps kids and their parents can take to stay happy and healthy this school year," said Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
I'm all for children being cleaner and healthier, but when you have a subversive Swine Flue Vaccination agenda being implanted into young minds, things get uncomfortable.
Update: Another puppet is urging people to get the vaccine-
Obama says Americans should get swine flu vaccine
With a potentially deadly swine flu outbreak looming, President Barack Obama is urging Americans to take steps to prevent infection.
Obama was briefed Tuesday on the nation's preparedness for swine flu by senior officials, including Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. Following the meeting, Obama said the government is preparing across all levels, but all Americans have a role to play in the response.
"I don't want anybody to be alarmed, but I do want everyone to be prepared," he said.
The global swine flu epidemic first emerged in April, sickening more than 1 million Americans and killing about 500. More than 2,000 people have died worldwide. Health officials are preparing for a surge in cases this fall, and one White House report from a panel of experts suggests up to half the U.S. population could catch swine flu during a pandemic
Vaccine development is ongoing and is likely to be available by October. The president said the vaccine for swine flu—known as the H1N1 virus—would be voluntary, but said the government will "strongly recommend" that people get it.
I'm having another one of those days. I think I'm going to have an aneurysm. I would be delighted if every single TV ever made shut off at once and never came back on again.
Update 2: My little sister brought up 2012 in a conversation, quite randomly. I talked a lot about it, pretty excited since she had such an open mind toward it once I took away the notion that a comet is going to strike the Earth, which is the one theory she had attached to. I explained Synchromysticism (as well as I could), and how 2012 is merely another name for the Now (in the simplest terms possible). She told me that people around her (fine people, if not a little "country") had been talking about the subject, bringing up different apocalyptic theories while keeping the "spiritual" aspect, as she mentioned a state of not being dead or alive associated with the comet impact. I didn't bring up anything too "scary" (I may eventually bring up mind control and show her how the TV is a programming tool, but this won't be easy), and made sure to keep her "skepticism" in line by bringing up various points and counterpoints. It was kind of strange talking to her about it, but I treated it as if it were any other subject (albeit one I've read a whole lot about and spent a lot of time and energy on) and hopefully it wasn't too weird for her to hear me going on about it. Today's been just crazy. Emotionally way up and way down.

Yup...turn off your teevees people. The Mrs was watching Pamela Anderson Roast...I felt sick ease dropping on that one.
Satellite almost got disconnected...so close...that would have put a smile on my face...
I wish it wasn't funny how many people would just panic if the TV went out. But it is funny. In a sick way.
Why don't our leaders and celebrities take the vaccine first, as a show of solidarity for the agenda? Oh, that's right, because its a bioweapon that will severely damage your body AT BEST. I can't understand TV viewers, I look at the TV like this hungry beast that needs my attention to feed, other people see it as their friend and teacher. In a way video games are even worse, sure they engage your coordination and lizard brain, but I find myself just playing in this zombie state where none of my forebrain is engaged, and I'm just sucking down violent memes and materialistic impulses. It's all a bunch of bullshit to stop us forging links with each other, and it's working so well. Great post.
Thanks, good point about the vaccine. I play some video games, usually violent ones, but only as a stress release. Probably not the best choice ;P
