15,000 hogs perish in fire

CALGARY -- Thousands of pigs were killed in a hog barn fire on the Cluny Hutterite Colony, gutting a main source of income and causing up to $9 million in loss and damages.

And the small community 120 km east of Calgary was yesterday just starting the onerous cleanup and coming to grips with the devastation caused by the blaze, barn manager Johnny Tschetter said.

"Eighty people live here and 70% of our income comes from that building," he said yesterday.

"I can't begin to explain what this means to us ... it's hard."

The blaze broke out about 6 p.m. Friday in the 110,000-sq. ft. barn and is thought to have been sparked by a mechanical failure with a feed auger, Cluny fire Chief Franky Tschetter said.

By the time it was spotted by a worker returning to the barn after dinner break, it was too late to spare the lives of any of the pigs inside.

We are in the "Dog Days" of summer, and as I learned from listening to Freeman's show, this is because in ancient times, Sirius would rise with the sun during this point in the year. (Actually, he said something about it being its most visible at this point, and the stuff about it rising with the sun was gleaned from Wikipedia. Also, I'm not able to find any connections between Sirius and Ceres/Demeter, besides that Isis/Diana/Sirius also holds a torch, but everywhere I search I am seeing that they are two separate entities, not to say that two separate goddess entities can't work at the same time, it's just a little confusing)

Update: Chris Knowles has this tidbit linking Isis/Sirius and Demeter/Ceres: "The heavenly insemination is literalized in The X-Files. The abduction in question is that of Isis/Hathor/Demeter stand-in Dana Scully, who is abducted and inseminated using alien technology, creating a human/alien hybrid."

I knew I had seen them linked before. Of course, he often sees characters in TV shows as portraying more than one god/goddess at once, so I'm still not sure they are the same being, but here is another connection, featured on his site but written by someone else: The annual event in honor of Eastre celebrated new life and renewal. The superstition about wearing new clothes came later, but echoed the commemoration of the new. Eastre is in the lineage of Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of love and fertility. Other names for this archetype include Inanna, Aphrodite, Diana, Isis, Venus, Astarte, Demeter, Esther, and Freya. Freya is specifically honored on Good Friday, the day named for her.


So we have swine, luciferian/venusian burning mass ritual sacrifice, and Dog Days...


(the post which this one replaced was another one of my desperate cries for attention, but through some one in a million chance my vampiric sister actually left the room above me and I was able to rest a little longer. I had some more weird dreams, but this time they were actually fun, not scary and traumatizing like last time, and I woke up feeling a whole lot better. I'm not sure why I keep becoming so depressed, it's almost like it's scheduled sometimes... Some days it's easy to just say "fuck it" and be happy, but other days I have a very hard time doing that.)
