Killer's Diary Shows Need to Patrol Web
Two days after a gunman killed three people at a suburban Pittsburgh health club, local police said they are taking a closer look at monitoring the Internet.
Before he went on a shooting rampage, George Sodini blogged about his plans and his anger toward women and society.
West Virginia State Police Sgt. Scott Adams said officers have often used the Internet as a secondary tool, usually to corroborate evidence against a sex predator.
But with posts like Sodini's online diary, Adams said the future of police work is changing. He said he sees "not only the state police, but all departments getting more and more training as far as the Internet and looking into different ways that criminals use the Internet."
I guess that's a step up from pretending to be horny underage girls.
"Anger towards women and society" is a blanket statement. People who feel that way make up 99% of the internet.
This is also kind of an interesting synchronicity, as I was woken up this morning by the theme to the TV show "Cops". I hate that show. I don't think there are any shows on TV now that I don't hate. When you can only hear the TV, it's just one long, incoherent babble that never, ever stops... Hellish.
Other "news":
Amsterdam: O'Reilly Factor vs. reality
I read somewhere that Amsterdam is also a huge child prostitution/pornography center. Once again, when it comes to TV, either side you take of an issue is the wrong one. The reasons the Fox News puppets are using for their argument are wrong, and the theme of the video seems to be "Amsterdam is really a happy flowery place". What the hell? At least the video manages to completely destroy the O'Reilly goons.
Anyone else see "Monica Crowley"? How many Crowleys do they have working in the news? (actually, it looks like she was just a guest, but still...)
Update: Jon posted this in the comments section, I thought it synced quite well (armed police guy, television, death, purgatory and hell)
