So was this whole thing a setup or what? They all seem really, really nervous, even though the host of the show still plays along with the script. What the hell is going on here?

Oh yeah, I also called that he wasn't in the balloon in the first place. That thing is tiny!

Also, listen in at 0:43.... Was that a fart? Anyway, I was thinking maybe the parents were just nervous that they're on TV, but since they've been on Wife Swap that seems unlikely. I'm wondering if the scripted part was where his parents are "surprised" that he could hear them (it seems like the kid is trying really hard to remember his line or something), or if he broke the script by saying that he could hear them (this is the most likely option, since it's obvious that this was the parents' attempt at making more money from TV appearances). I have no clue at this point, really...

Another symbolic approach to this strange story is this.... The beings which we thought were in UFOs are actually on Earth.
